We’re excited to be hosting a Culture Days information session to kick-start local planning for Culture Days activities for 2014,
said Karina Douglas, Reference Librarian at the Timmins Public Library,
Our information session will bring the artists, cultural groups and businesses of Timmins together to identify new collaborations, special projects and potential hub locations. Best of all, it is a chance for everyone to get excited and inspired for Culture Days 2014.
Culture Days invites everyone to explore, discover and participate in arts and culture in every community across the country. In 2013, the fourth annual Culture Days event took place in more than 800 Canadian cities and towns, with attendance topping more than 1.7 million Canadians. More than 1500 activities were presented across Ontario alone, five of which were held in Timmins’ inaugural year.
This year’s Culture Days weekend will take place on September 26, 27 and 28, 2014. Once again, the event will feature free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to participate “behind the scenes”—and to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, and designers at work in their community.
Culture Days in Ontario is supported by the Ontario Arts Council and the Government of Ontario in recognition of Celebrate the Artist Weekend.
