The Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre is pleased to present Fibre Content, a juried exhibition of contemporary Canadian fibre art, from July 6th to September 1st, 2019.
The juried exhibit will showcase a wide range of fibre art, studio quilts and mixed media work by member artists from a number of Southern Ontario guilds and co-operatives.
Colourful and creative, inspiring and innovative, this exhibit invites viewers to enjoy the diversity of patterns and passion expressed in fibre art. Expect to see traditional, contemporary, representational and abstract art quilts, weavings, rugs, felted and mixed media work presenting a variety of themes and subjects. The jurors for this exhibit are: William Hodge, a retired instructor from OCADU, Dr. Elaine Paterson, Associate Dean, Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Craft Studies Concordia University and Susan Warner Keene, an award winning visual artist.
The exhibit will be on display in the Grey gallery; admission is free.
The museum is opened from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (extended hours to 8pm on Thursday); Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 4pm.
