Donating Artifacts

The Timmins Museum is committed to preserving and sharing the rich history of the Timmins region. One of the most valuable ways you can contribute to this mission is by donating artifacts, photographs, or archival materials connected to our community.

We are specifically seeking objects that tell the story of Timmins and its surrounding area — items that reflect the people, places, industries, cultures, and events that have shaped our region’s identity. These may include personal belongings, tools, documents, clothing, or memorabilia that help illustrate life in Timmins throughout the years.

Each donation helps us deepen our understanding of local history and ensures that these stories are preserved for future generations. Before donating, please contact the museum to discuss your items. Our curatorial staff will review each potential donation to ensure it aligns with our collection mandate and that we can properly care for it.

By donating, you’re helping to safeguard the heritage of Timmins — keeping our community’s story alive for years to come.

What we do with the donation?

Our community’s history is rich with stories that span thousands of years. As highlighted in our permanent exhibit, the history of the Timmins region stretches back over 10,000 years. Within the space of our gallery, we’ve carefully woven together these centuries of history to ensure that everyone’s stories and experiences are represented.

We are deeply grateful for the many donations that have contributed to our growing collection. While not every photo or artifact appears in the exhibit, each item plays an important role in preserving our shared heritage. Every donation is cared for and safeguarded for future generations, helping us tell the ongoing story of our community — one object at a time.
