The City of Timmins acknowledges that we are on the traditional lands of Mattagami, Flying Post, and Matachewan First Nations, within Treaty 9 territory, home to Ojibway, Cree, Oji-Cree, Algonquin, Métis, and Inuit peoples.

Gianna Babando

Gianna began her career in heritage as a part-time and summer student at the Timmins Museum’s original South Porcupine location. After more than 30 years working in archiving and special collections, her path has come full circle—returning to the Museum and reconnecting with some of the very artifacts she first encountered early in her career.

With her extensive background in collections and preservation, Gianna brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. She is passionate about sharing stories, guiding visitors through the region’s history, and helping them engage with the area’s diverse cultural heritage.
