The City of Timmins acknowledges that we are on the traditional lands of Mattagami, Flying Post, and Matachewan First Nations, within Treaty 9 territory, home to Ojibway, Cree, Oji-Cree, Algonquin, Métis, and Inuit peoples.

Monica Towsley

Monica has been the Program Coordinator at the Timmins Museum since 2019, and truly loves what she does! Before joining the museum, she was a teacher, earning her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Ontario and her Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University. Now, she gets to blend her love of history, education, and art into programs for all ages – whether it’s hands-on crafts, school visits, or large community events.

If you’re a teacher planning a class trip, Monica is the person to connect with to make your visit fun, engaging, and memorable. She’s also always eager to connect with local artists and crafters. So, if you’d like to lead a workshop or teach a course – whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth – reach out to Monica, and she’ll help make it happen!

In addition to her program work, Monica has also become the museum’s resident content creator, sharing updates and keeping everyone in the know about what’s happening – a new skill she’s discovered and genuinely enjoys. Monica also really loves an outdoor adventure and has become our in-house meteorologist – camping by the water is her favourite summer getaway!
